A Good Start. And not far from done. Layers. Acrylic below, watercolor on top.

Still can’t believe how fast week three went by. And here we are in the final countdown. I read that Pic Monkey is doing a revamp. Still in Beta testing so no difference yet.

DAY 26

I know I said I wouldn’t. All votes were for Day 26 being done. I took Val’s advice, and darkened the pot. But it really looks so much better in person. No harsh edges, the colors blend together nicely. Not sure if it helped to show roundness, but I do like it better. I think I went more intense, instead of darker.

I also softened some of the hard edges in the greens. Just a few areas. I added a bit more of the Sunkissed Peach to the background. Just top right, bottom left and above the pot. I reinforced the turquoise top left and bottom left. I laid the color down, then patted it off. And really, all these additions are soft and not as different from the WIP as they seem here.

Day 26 is gorgeous! Darkening that pot in spots works so well – I just love the greens in the aloe! And I love Day 27 – those large ‘cacti’ shapes with the dots are beautiful and I love how you have added variation to them with colour – it is lovely!!

Great colours in your new WIP, Sheila and the dots add a nice touch. I like the changes you made to the aloe one too. I think the pot works better now and I like what you did with the background – so glad you left the leaves as they were. – I think that one is definitely a keeper!

Thank you Val. 😉 The changes were not too dramatic, except for the pot. I feel better about it, think it will look great framed and matted 😉 Enjoy your painting time today Val 😉

I agree with Val, the pot on aloe is great just a bit darker. In fact the aloe is wonderful. And this w.i.p. Is awesome! I love what you’re doing with this technique you’re using. The deep red against the green…nice!
I look at my piece “promise” every day and love it. Thank you again, Sheila!

Sheila! I’m loving the (new?) bold(er) you!

Day 27 WIP is already strong, and I’m eager to see where you might take it.

The changes you made to Day 26—WELL DONE! You heightened contrast to excellent effect.

Keep on keeping on : )

The artist knew best. You definitely enhanced the Aloe art by darkening the pot and its contours. Really nice! And, oh, how I love your mango shapes and mixture of colors! We’re almost there, Sheila; the end is in sight!!
