I could kick myself for not getting before shots of these last three pieces. Oh well. Spilt milk. Today I added the vase, table, greenery. More Sunkissed Peach to the background, to soften a couple of rough edges. Scratch marks. Just a few because I scratched off some of the collaged tissue. And a lot of turquoise and indigo scribbles.

This might be a WIP. Haven’t decided. I really like it the way it is. But that pesky voice inside my head is whispering that I need to actually add the roses. Keep it simple Sheila.

I considered adding a touch of indigo to this. Instead I drew tiny turquoise circles. Acrylic, Caran d’Ache, texture sheet, collage, some finger painting. Used a palette knife for the first layers. Random marks.

Feeling like this might be a work in progress. The collage shape is nudging at me. I may add more Flesh tone to balance or conceal. Loving the pinkish, peachy flesh color, “Natural Buff”. But it does not scan as well as it looks in person. It is warm, and not too feminine. Or maybe it is. What do you think?

Day two is through?

A quick morning sketch to try new colors. The Neocolor Bordeaux red is more raspberry than I would have thought. The crayon looks much deeper. Still, it’s a new favorite. I love the new Yellow. Orangish Yellow. That is the official name. Also Juane Paille and Hellorange. I like that one. Hello orange! Ha ha.

And can I BE this turquoise today? I just want to take that crayon and scribble all over everything. Think I should have bought two of those 😉

Well Leslie is off in Europe with her family. (Have you seen the photos?) So 30 in 30 is next month. Kinda of glad actually. Works for me. I have some catching up to do.

Our Christmas was delayed. My brother and his wife caught the bug. On top of that they were moving this weekend, into their new home. YAY! Better all around to wait one more week. Everything for a reason. It will be my birthday celebration as well. Two birds with one stone ‘ey.

Hope your first day of the New Year is off to a smashing start!
