This gorgeous surprise arrived today. All the way from Minnesota! At first glance I thought it was a collage. And it is of course, in a way. I love the vivid colors, the warmth, the pop of black. Love the ode to nature and the repeating shapes.

The date on this is 2016. Amy said she didn’t get her cards out this year. I am counting myself lucky to receive this “leftover”! Amy sent a personal message on the back of the card, and wishes me “Happy Arting!” She also included a sweet sticker tribute to a friend who was a mail artist. Isn’t that a terrific idea?

The card is postmarked the 17th of May. Arrived on the 25th. LOL. Thanks Amy for sharing your art with me! It was such a nice surprise!

Yesterday was Soul Art Day and It was a blessed day of creating. Tomorrow I will share the work with you.

Happy arting Amy – and to you all as well!

I am going to like painting on gessoed paper. Need more practice. I know you can’t see it, but that puts a smile on my face. The gesso allows easy removal of color. Take it off, put more on, take it off. It can be reworked without fear of the paper shredding. There is also a really nice texture in some areas. On the next piece I will show a close up, if it happens again.

Splatter stripe has been “favorited” by 29 of the designers on Spoonflower. A few that I really admire as well – professionals. (Very cool!)  That makes it my #2 design. I am going to take that as a good sign. Fingers crossed! Still time to vote today!

Happy Monday everyone!

Laura Hollick’s International Soul Art Day takes place on May 25th. This will mark my fifth year participating. It is an all day virtual event. Laura guides you through a thought-provoking journey, to help you connect to spirit and insights.

Ready for a day of fun? Open to everyone, you can join in as your schedule allows. Choose a favorite medium, or try a new one. It is empowering to know that you are connected with so many kindred spirits. Thriving in the energy that is artistic expression.

A couple of days ago I decided to clean out my stored artworks. I am recycling what I can. Six boards of different sizes are gessoed and ready to go. Twenty 6 x 6 pieces of Yupo are washed and standing by.  I even “washed” pieces of Arches. I figure that I can gesso them as well. So I guess I am ready for Soul Art. Don’t you find it interesting that the thought came to me, just before the invitation did?

I hope you will consider taking part in this creative cluster. Visit the link above for a short video introduction. Click on the images for a look back at my Soul Art Experiences.
