My entry for the Spoonflower Retro Floral Curtain Design Challenge. Yes, this looks familiar. I used some of the same blooms from the retro pillow challenge, but changed the palette.

I tried to do a more natural pussy willow design. Twiggy and delicate. But everything I have worked on this week has turned to muck. 😆 What could go wrong, has. With time running out, I decided to recycle.

Even then, more problems. My strokes, outlines, were messy and uneven on about half of the smaller blooms. And unfortunately, I hadn’t noticed until after I had duplicated many times. Uggh. I didn’t know what was wrong, so my fixes weren’t fixing. The only thing to do was to start over. Voila. 🤓

I tried a texture on the background. It looked great, but the seam was showing. For some reason it was not lining up to create a seamless pattern.

Voting for the Retro Floral Curtain Challenge is open for five days. Last week’s Moon Sun design placed 456, (With 29 votes.) of 848 entries. That’s almost the top 50%. 😆 Thanks so much for voting. I really appreciate it. 😻

Sheila, I so admire your get up and go, especially in the face of all the get up and stops that present themselves en route! But those midstream snafus are part of what grab us as artists, yes? It’s fun that Spoonflower has the capability to showcase so many applications of a surface design. Does Spoonflower present a new challenge every week?

Thank you Dotty, I do keep trying. 🙂 And like a dog with a bone, I can’t stop until I find the solution. Haha.
I think you are right, that is part of the artist way of seeing things.
It is fun to see it in different applications. And yes, they do have the challenge every week.
I have learned so much on the last few designs. And learning is always a good thing. ;o)

“Pink Posies,” just saying it is a delight for the tongue, but seeing it in its various forms here, I agree with Val that this is my favorite design so far. It’s so pretty and cheerful.

I like this best of all the ones you have done so far; maybe just because of the colours. I must say however that the wallpaper is a bit too much pink for my taste – lol

That’s awesome Val! Thank you. 🙂 Yup, I agree. That would be too much pink for me too. Haha. Too much busy pink.
