Day one of #100DaysOfMingus. Yes, I’ve gone and done it. Judy Jacobs posted an invite. I thought about it for a week, and finally signed up. I have a list of ideas for the 100 day project. Subjects I like to paint. Right up to the last-minute I could not decide what to commit to. Terrible problem I know.

A simple start, because I am already behind.  LOL. As with the 30 day challenge, I will paint a day ahead at least. Alternate views, different mediums and techniques. That should help keep boredom at bay.

See ya tomorrow!

Thank you Corinne 🙂 I will be painting other things in between, I hope. Small sketches at least. So great to hear from you, missed seeing your work 😉

Love your Mingus Mountains! Things are subtle in this painting – the depth you have so delicately created, the textures and lovely sky. I like this palette. Two thumbs up to you Sheila – a hundred days of painting! Looking forward to more!!

Awesome start! I really like the textural-type marks that are in the background mountains, beautiful colors. I will be with you on your journey but vicariously this time. I am painting, but, as usual, each one is taking several days. We are also looking for place to put our roots more permanently and that is so darn difficult and time-consuming. xoxoxo

Consider the high desert Laurelle! LOL 🙂 Not as hot as Phoenix, mild winters, close to skiing if you want it. Hiking, nature stuff. Less traffic, lower cost of living… LOL 😉 so glad you will be with me Laurelle 🙂

I’m eager to see how you shake up Mingus for a hundred days, Sheila! In today’s post, the straightforwardness appeals to me. Also the way the bottom two ‘stripes’ are roughly complementary, the top two ‘stripes’ roughly monochromatic, the way all three ‘stripes’ kiss lightly in the middle.

I think you are crazy! That is a lot to commit to doing and just after finishing the 30 day challenge. However, you are off to a nice start. Mingus is always a good subject – right outside your window and always changing. Good luck with this one Sheila!

That’s exciting! I’m learning a lot about my craft and vision my doing my 365. Sometimes as much by the failures as the successes!
