Officially caught up. Today, I will be painting right on schedule. Here is the painting. And the photo that I was working from. Loosely. Calling this done, but I am going to make a few changes.

All Caught up!

I went overboard with details. Too dark. Meant for Mingus to be bluish.  But I am really happy with two-thirds of the painting. 🙂  I think I can go back in, and soften up the dark shadows, and get rid of some hard edges. Maybe I’ll just do a wash over the mountain, and start over.

I had fun though. Enjoyed the process. So it’s all good. I’ll keep you posted.

Here is yesterday’s sunrise for you. I waited, thinking it was going to get more vivid. But it just sort of evaporated. Became whitish, greyish, overcast mellow.

Wonderful watercolor Sheila. Love the details on the hills and the clouds billowing behind the mountain ridge. So great that you have a view like that – and the inspiration to paint the view over and over. Hurray for you.

Aww thanks Corinne 😉 So glad you enjoyed this one. The clouds often get pushed up to the mountains, and they stay there. Which is why we sometimes don’t get rain. LOL. I love seeing them though 🙂

Ah yes, of course. I understand. Mountains do that to clouds and rain. I remember from my geography lessons. Rain on one side of a ridge, droughts on the other. I remember from the Pyrennees in France (green and wet). The other side in Spain is a different matter altogether.

It was that way in Colorado too. Of course those mountains are much higher 🙂 But it does make for pretty vistas 😉

Sheila, LOVE and am delighted by what you capture through tuning in to the now of Mingus each day. Today: the lines and dots, the puffs—the Morse code of Mingus!

Thank you Val 🙂 It helps to see it through someone else’s eyes sometimes doesn’t it? 😉 Enjoy our day!

I think this is a beautiful watercolour!! The clouds are amazing as are the details in the hills and mountains. So here are all the ‘if’s’ I’m thinking about – what if you let if sit for a few days and then come back for a second look, what if you put a mat on and see what it looks like and what if you just left it and painted another? There are probably more but these are the top of my list. I am enjoying the art you art doing for this 100 Days of Mingus – fantastic!! Have a great day.

What if I believe you Janet? LOL 🙂 Looking at it again this morning (painted it last night) I see only two areas that I want to work more. The two dark stripes in the center, and the dark area at the bottom of Mingus. I will do that today and repost. Hope your day is fabulous too Janet!
