January Painting Challenge In Review

Jan 2016 30 In 30 Challenge, sheiladelgado.com. Sheila Delgado

The challenge is officially over. I am ready for a break, but I am committed to continuing the daily habit. Be it sketch, or paint, or digital design. Wish me luck!

Out of my 30 pieces for this month, there are only five that I am not thrilled with. Not bad odds. There are a few others I did not like at first, but they have grown on me. Some of that has to do with insights of others. My followers, friends and family. Thank you to my fellow artists for your support and encouragement. I am grateful to you!

I made a collage of my favorites for the month. Which paintings did you like best?

My January favorites.

I will choose from the nine paintings above to create postcards for the upcoming Liberate Your Art exchange. I can never decide on just one design, so there will be at least five.

I love the daily conversations with my artist friends.  Miss that the most when the challenge ends. Seeing your art each day is so inspiring and uplifting! Thank you all! For sharing your process, your successes, and your lessons learned when things did not go as hoped. I wish you the very best in the year ahead!

Cheers to Leslie Saeta for another successful 30 In 30!
Thank you for bringing us all together!

Cheers to the 1403 participating artists worldwide!

It’s great to see your entire collection all in one place! Your paintings have brought a bit of sunshine to a wintery January. Have enjoyed learning more about your process and seeing the changes you make in your work. It is rare to see someone occasionally put up pieces that they believe “don’t work,” and then see the revisions. Brave! Look forward to seeing more of your work in Spoonflower and in some of the other challenges coming up. Congratulations!

Thanks so much Corinna, so glad you have enjoyed them 🙂 Oh that reminds me, I need to update my potted herbs pattern. (Thanks!) I do need to put some concentrated effort into Spoonflower. Thank you for your kind words, awfully nice to hear. So enjoyed talking with you this month, and I can’t wait to see what you are up to next. 🙂

Hi Sheila – I LOVE what you have done with your challenge paintings this past month. It is such a cohesive collection and I can see many of them being used as surface designs in the future. You have really out done yourself. I have many favorites and each one has made me feel happy inside. I too, have had a difficult time with connecting to your blog lately. I don’t know what the problem is, but it often will not load properly for me. Congratulations on completing your 6th 30in30 challenge! Well done my friend!! xo Sandy

I apologize Sandy. It is the server and a low bandwidth connection. I am still hoping to return to the old server and a better connection, but I have no clue when that will happen. ;-/ It will load, but it is more difficult in high traffic times. Thanks so much for your generous compliments, so nice to hear. Your work as always, was outstanding. Add to that your daily research and inclusion of the thoughtful quotes, amazing!

I can’t seem to win! For some reason I lost the connection that emailed me your blog which I fixed yesterday but today there are no photos showing – grr! It has been a great month and tho I missed your blogs I went back last night and had a look. I really liked your book marks and the pillows were lovely. Have a nice break and I hope to see more of your work before the September Challenge.

So sorry Val, I am sure most of that is the fault of my blog. The server that is hosting right now has a slower net connection. I have noticed that some of my older posts, the photos aren’t showing, or take a long time to load. Still hoping to have all of that resolved, but time marches on. Thanks so much for going back to take a look, and thank you for all of your suggestions and compliments. Hope to see you work soon as well Val 🙂
