AAUGH! The new WordPress update messed with the editor! 12:30 pm and I need to learn how to work a new system? Are you kidding me?

I had the post written. Done. I tried to switch back to the old editor, and BAM! No more post. AAUGH! Unbelievable.

OK, let me see, how did it go?

I putzed half of Tuesday night, and most of Wednesday working on Day two. I decided that piece was not ready for prime time, and I started a new one. I watched a video on painting loose watercolor florals. You know how I struggle with painting loose. Haha.

But I am stubborn. And I am going to keep trying until I get it right. Haha.

I sketched the baselines for the blooms, and then I splattered water on the paper. The flow of paint in water took over, which is what I wanted. But I realized, I placed the buds to close to the edges.

I had fun in the process. I noticed my body relaxed as soon as I stopped fighting with the first piece. I have painted like this before. Laughing because I always think I am going to try and do things differently in the challenge. But after having not painted for so long, the process felt new. New-ish. On to day three for you and for me!

Happy creating everyone!

Love the pretty, bright flowers. So far, WP has been kind to me. But I tried the blocks editor just to see, but immediately went back to the old editor. I hope I don’t have any problems moving forward.

Thank you Chandra 🙂 It is easy working with blocks, once you play with it a little. I still haven’t learned it all, just enough to get by. LOL 🙂

Don’t you just hate it when they change things on you? New and improved is such a crock! I like this piece. It made me think of 3 teenage girls who are in a snit – lol. The colours are good but I think you could use the dark green at the bottom and pull up a few blades of grass to help continuity.

Thank you Val, I will take a look. I am sure you are right. Haha! I love that description. Yup, The composition needs work. I thought about digitally cutting it down to rearrange so to speak. But both halves were still not well composed. I did mean for one of them to be smaller, but I just kept working the color. I am going to try your suggestion. When it is wet, that dark is so overpowering. Have fun today Val!! 🙂

Loved seeing yesterday’s painting around the bed piece. Sounds like the fight continues but you persevered. I wonder why for some of us looseness is so elusive?
Also, why is every platform changing to new modes that don’t work? Is it a conspiracy

It is, you are right Nelvia!! Haha. I think it is that they are slowly forcing us to pay for the use of the site. There was note on mine, hinting that it be better with the PRO version… $$
I think it is like with curly hair. If you have it, you don’t want it. And if you don’t have it, you do. Haha 🙂
But I think the striving for something keeps us moving forward.
If it were easy, maybe we would get bored. Haha.
You are off to a-rockin’ start! So glad to see your work again. 🙂

So sorry to hear about wordpress problems! Same here on Blogger! So far we can revert to the old but not for long. Love the flowers and texture effects you got with the splatters!

Uggh, Carol, right?! I know they are always trying to make things better, but how about making them easier for the user? I am still getting used to the new editor, and now they have changed it again. I was able to revert also, but I am sure not for long.
Me and my splatters. Haha. I love how the turquoise looked when splattered into the wet indigo. 😉 Have fun my friend! 🙂
