Just a mellow Mingus Monday. I completely botched this. From bottom to top. What I tried, new for me, didn’t work. So I just spread the paint, and evened it all out.  Maybe that is why they call it a wash. Ha ha. I will try again.

I touched up #11. I reworked four shadow areas on Mingus. You might not even see a difference, but I feel better about it.  The dark areas at the bottom. In the “v” of the front range, and to the left of that. Also the two side by side shadows at the top. And the third shadow from the left. I softened some hard edges and lifted some paint to lighten some of those areas.

Still have two on the table, half finished. Maybe that counts as just one. I wonder if I will have two on the table all the way to the end.

Mellow Mingus Monday is THE perfect antidote to my having spent 12 hours traveling 600 miles of highway in assault-level rain the entire trip.

And that is all I have to say at the moment : )

I don’t know what you tried on the first piece but I think it turned out great. And your changes to the shadows on the mountain do look better a bit softer and lighter. So many people claim you can’t fix watercolour – you can – it just takes a bit more work – lol.

I am glad to hear you can see it Val. Not a big change, just enough. 😉 Hopefully, when I get the technique right you will see. I am not sure what to call it, but it is just a loose, wet, chunky style. 😉

I really love the vibe of your no. 11. It’s so early-in-the-morning positive. You know, the feeling when you get up and it is just too early for bad things to happen and to spoil your day. – Are you actually doing a 100-day challenge? That’s fantastic! And very brave too.

Hi Christiane! I love that! Too early for bad things to happen. That sounds like a great idea for one of your pieces 😉 I am, I am. And you know what, so far it has not been stressful. And even with the days that the piece does not go well. I don’t know what is up with that, but I am grateful.
