This quick piece was inspired by Carla Sonheim’s recent post. She inspired me to play. Thank you Carla! My only goal with this was to use up some of the leftover “puddles” of color on my palette dishes. Ran out of room for mixing! My brain needed a rest after chasing down a possible computer virus, and fixing site issues.

The colors are not showing true. the top paddle has more green, the bottom a bit more blue. They look the same to me here. This is the second piece I worked on today. The first just needs more time. I will finish it tomorrow. This was my response to the detail in that. K.I.S.S.

My plan for this post was to include a slide show of the mountains today. But just when I thought I had it all ready, it wasn’t. Again, I will have that for tomorrow. Lots of starts today, without endings. But I did manage to make a delicious chicken soup. From start to finish.

Almost finished with Leslie’s challenge. This time it went by fast.

Only two more days in Leslie Saeta’s 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. I feel like I am just getting started. I have paintings in my head that want to come out! I think the trip, and break in painting schedule has me feeling like it shouldn’t be over yet. How ’bout you? Are you ready for October?

Yesterday’s piece had a nice wonky feel to it. Today’s is a little too clean and… staged. The drawing took forever, and I am still not happy with the composition. I spent more time painting this than on yesterday’s, and I think the lack of spontaneity shows.  It was fun though!

It was another beautiful Mingus Mountain day. Love the light on the front range.
