When I paint these, I am only thinking about how the colors might look together. The feeling that the combination might evoke. Might be stretching a bit here with the title. When I had finished, I thought of the evening sky, the last fading light as it hits the clouds.

I can’t wait to get home and catch up with everyone!

I had fun working on this. Had no idea what to do when I started. So I just plopped some color on the clean white paper. I had chunky blocks of clay and then I REALLY didn’t have an idea. I set it aside and started another piece.

Little by little, I added more color. I added white lines, then shiraz, and finally the indigo. It didn’t feel complete. I splattered lime to break up the dark areas. Next, white splatters and then indigo.

I didn’t realize until the end, that I had the makings of an abstracted flower.

Feeling warm yet? The day I painted this it was grey and chilly. Warmed me right up. I am having too much fun with the Mingus mountains.  I am going to take a drive next month and see what I can see!

Guess I could have added some clouds. But hey, just means I get to paint another one! I darkened the pencil line after the paint dried. I think it is just enough. I have to find that pen! Nope, it wasn’t in my purse.

Hope you are having an awesome weekend!
