Looking through an old Sara Steele calendar, I was bombarded by her color intensity. I LOVE her use of color. So today, I had that in mind as I worked. This my second piece, the first is a WIP I will share tomorrow.

I find it funny, but so far I have not been stressed about this challenge. I don’t have a map, or even a destination in mind. Just putting one foot in front of the other.

I do know there will be flowers. Of course. And there will be an elephant or two.

I managed to prep a few photos. Not great, but you can see why I am so drawn to the landscape here in Prescott Valley.

We are having the summer rains. Monsoon season. We get short bursts of rainstorms. Sometimes with tiny hail, often with thunder and lightning. We are loving it!  Cloudy skies and colorful sunsets. My view is to the east, and this is one of God’s glorious sunset creations

Sightseeing with friends from California, we discovered Watson Lake. In the rain. I really hoped they would get to see some rain, but I wish it had not been while we were at the lake.  These rocks are so vivid in the sun. Oh well, we still took loads of photos.

The gallery is growing on Leslie Seata’s 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge!
I am also adding friends and favorites to my Pinterest board for the event.

It looks like you will have lots of inspiration for paintings in your new home. The mountains change every day so that will continue to challenge you. What a great sunset and cool rocks in the lake pic. BTW thanks for sharing the link to the gallery, I am not participating this time but I do want to see what others are up to. Have a great day.

You are missed Val! I will continue to share the link, and hopefully I will also remember to update it for each day. LOL. The light on the hills changes minute by minute, you are right about a challenge, haha.

I can see why you are in love with your surroundings. What a gorgeous sunset.! Great painting! Love your strategy, one foot after the other. Was at first looking for your flowers, but loving your mountains. Answering on tablet, allows log on my G+, which my PC does not, there I have to sign on WP….

Sheila, it’s wonderful to be seeing your art again daily after a hiatus. LOVE these hills in blue. The simplicity, the intensity of color, the calming effect of the horizontals.
