WOW! After two bad, I mean REALLY bad right-into-the-round-file pieces… this! Well thank goodness. Meant I could finally go to bed!

I started with watercolor pencil, and clean water splattered on the paper. Towards the end I was tempted to add watercolor pencil to bring out leaf shapes, but I decided to forgo the chance of botching it! I thought my stems looked a bit too beefy, but I like the overall look of this. I like the way the colors mixed, and there are some interesting blooms as well.

Hallelujah AMEN!

    Although it sounds like you had a frustrating time , this piece looks like great fun. Loose and exciting – accepting the parts that are often classed as mistakes as well as not getting too detailed. Well done Sheila!

    I do photography and I swear flowers are the bane of my existence. I know there’s a photo there and yet… I get home and look through 200 photos and go “nope, nope, nope, nope, close but nope, nope….. ” and I’m happy if I get 3 that I like. I suppose I should study more to figure out what it takes before I click 200 times, but I’m drifting from my point. Sometimes they just don’t work and you gotta drive on.

    I like this final one of yours :}

      So nice to hear from you Dave! I know what you mean! Ir can be going along great, then a bad stroke or bloom can botch it. LOL. You do GREAT photos!! You’re right… just gotta keep on swimming 🙂
