The Milliande Birthday Postcard Swap I am a part of does not include any birthday’s for this month. Which is a blessing in disguise, because we are celebrating five birthdays next month. I am trying to get a jump on my birthday creations, and have them ready before Thanksgiving.

I am also working on a postcard submission for a show in New York City, and the deadline is the beginning of next month. I have several cards started, and this I finished today.

Fall, leaves, fall

Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;
Lengthen night and shorten day;
Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the autumn tree.
I shall smile when wreaths of snow
Blossom where the rose should grow;

Ushers in a drearier day.

Richmond Art Gallery’s 2013 International Mail Art Exhibition and Swap: Memory!

I’m in! Wooo Whoo! I just received word that my postcards were accepted.

The exhibition is from November 17, 2013 – January 12, 2014, and will be in the Art Gallery alongside an exhibition by Governor General Award Winner, Margaret Dragu. The opening reception will be on Saturday, November 16, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. The Richmond Art Gallery is located in the Richmond Cultural Centre, Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.

At the end of the exhibition all works will be traded, and I will receive a ‘swap’ as a postcard in the mail approximately 2 months after the exhibition closes. How fun will that be! The artists participating are from all over the world.

I will let you know when the online gallery is open, so you can take a peek at the show.
