Silver bells, silver bells
It’s Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day

This song came on as I started to post. I love Christmas music. Just puts me in a happy place. I know a lot of people get tired of it, but I do not. I love the classics, Nat King Cole, Dan Martin, Andy Williams, Doris Day. And new classics like Gosh Grobin, Harry Connick Jr., Michael Bublé, Martina McBride, Mercy Me. Casting Crowns, Third Day.There are just too many to mention.

Choral Awards matted 3.5 x 2.5I was in choir in school, and choral music takes me back to those happy times, performing with my friends. I was too shy to get up and sing by myself, but with friends on the left and right… it was easier. A bunch of us even went to state competition and brought home some medals. I am sure that is part of why I enjoy seasonal music so much. Somewhere in the back of my head is that memory, and feeling of accomplishment.

This is a quick artist trading card I did as part of Sea Deans Gift and Decorations Art Party. You can share your art as well. The more the merrier!

I hope you are enjoying the spirit of the season!

For some reason I can not get this to work, but here is Kelly Clarkson singing O Holy night. I think she knocked it out of the park.

Three more postcards for the Birthday postcard exchange. Sending them all out tomorrow. Some of the December birthday girls will be getting their cards super early. Knowing how hectic this month is, and how forgetful I am, I wanted to be sure the cards made it to their destinations.

Hope you all had a warm and wonderful holiday!

Rottweiler Portrait

Worked on this for a friend’s BIG FIVE OH birthday celebration. This was my first attempt, and I am so pleased with how it turned out.

The critic in me says it is completely over worked. I heard those familiar voices in my head the whole time. You know the ones, those characters that go by the names of Fear and Doubt. I just forced myself to work through the mud and the muck. That stage in the middle where it looks like a toddler is holding the brush.

I learned a few new things during the process. For that alone, I can call this a success. The birthday “girl” loved it, and that is all that really matters.

Whew!
