I don’t even need to write a post for this design. The title is long enough, all by itself! There is a prompt when you enter the challenge that asks if your title meets the challenge requirements. I may have over thought it. 😏

Spoonflower partnered with Pantone for this, their Pantone Ultra-Steady Wallpaper Design Challenge. Now that is a mouthful. Pantone selected the limited palette.

I eliminated the greys right off. I wasn’t feeling “minty”, or ultra-bold. That left me with three soft hues. I did try a dark outline, to bring in another color. I prefer the soft tones on their own. I had in mind a deconstructed, or faded feel.

The Spoonflower Fans page on Facebook gives me an early peek to some of the designs. And WOW! The designers made awesome use of the palettes. Voting is open until May 9th. Can you believe we are in May already?

I must say, voting is so much easier. Before it was a labour of love to spend an hour ploughing through them all. Now it’s much faster. You were on page 13 and as I’dgone so far, I decided carry on to the end. I had voted for some that I wanted to remove so I signed up. I like the review at the end because you can see what you voted for and maybe change your mind. This colour scheme is not one of my favorites and I appreciated that you were quite pale in your choices. I can’t imagine some of these really dark wallpapers every day. Many are too busy, or too bold or too dark. Yours was just right. I noticed one other person had done link circles, but yours was much nicer.

I am voting later today, but I did see lots of dark, busy designs in the Facebook group.
I agree, the colors, or the mix, just didn’t click with me. We were not allow to add black or white. I think the bold tones
needed to be balanced with something other than a softer shade of blue.
I’m glad the voting is working for you. So far, I have always been at the very end, for me. LOL. Just luck of the digital draw.
Thanks so much for voting, Sea. 🙂 xoxo

An interesting challenge this time Sheila. Your design is nice and simple and the colour is nice but I feel my eyes crossing when I look at the pattern – lol. Once again I tried to vote and it didn’t work. They really need to go back to the old system as this new one sucks.

So sorry, Val. Did you select three? the make you vote for three now.
Was it the submit votes button? did the screen freeze on you? That is what happened to me. I had to try 3 times, and then it finally accepted my vote.
I agree with you, the old system at least worked. Thanks for taking the time and trying. I appreciate it. 🙂
