Just a few more days now. Time passes so quickly, but the challenge month seems like a blink of the eye. Speaking of eyes, next month I am having cataract surgeries. “Yay”, she says, with an OMG look on her face.

I knew I have floaters. Annoying. The doctor is not worried about those though. He did not see cataracts in my first visit. Six weeks later they were there. He was astounded. He could not believe his notes had no mention. And I told him that he did not say anything about them. He said it rarely happens, that they develop so quickly. I reminded him I have Lupus, and he did say that could be a factor.

I have pre-op on the 3rd and surgery on the 8th and 15th. I will likely be digitally silent for most of the month. Bright light and all. Their website mentions that color vision may be improved. Hmm. “Interesting”, she says, eyebrow raised.

I have to be honest and say, I am mildly freaking out at the thought of someone slicing my eye open. While I am awake. Everyone I have talked to says it is a breeze. I will be thrilled to have them both behind me.

I used a digital repeat pattern on the vase. For Nelvia: The lines were black but I removed most of that color and altered it with selective color. Just as printers do, you can get thousands of variations by adding more or less cyan, magenta, and yellow.

Which vase do you like best?

Is there anything better than seeing clearly? No. And that’s what you will be doing within days of the surgery, maybe even less. I have known many, many, many people who have had cataract surgery. Not one did not say it was easy as pie. I’ll never forget taking my mother in for both of them. Each time it seemed like within hours she was fine. So no worries, Sheila, dear.
As to the vase preference, the green (being an analogous color) is more subdued and flatter looking; the orange (being the complementary of blue) pops out and so there is a feeling of texture. I like them both;)

WOW, that is awesome news Laurelle. Many manys make me more at ease. Haha. 🙂
The site mentioned sensitivity to light for days… hours sounds much better. 🙂
I always have a slight worry, because of Lupus. It’s a wild card. LOL.
I have been praying since I found out.
YES! It is a blessing that I am able to have this taken care of.

I like your expert analysis of the color choices. I have to admit I did not think in those terms.
I just went by how the colors felt. Another example of why you are a professional, and so very inspiring!
      Thank you Laurelle. 🙂 xoxo

I like the second of your revisions – the yellow/green lines are great. Good luck with your surgery – it is a breeze. I found putting the eye drops in the hardest part – lol

I like that one too, it was a tough call for me. Thanks for your input Val.
And, Yes, I think that the drops will be a chore for me too. I hate putting drops in my eyes.
Thanks for the encouragement about the surgeries Val 🙂
