A day in the life of a mountain. From misty morn to saffron sunset. Most often, the mountains look like two ridges. You can see below, there are many more layers. This is the first I am seeing so many distinctions. Fun day!

Mingus Morning 1.

Mingus Morning 2.

Mingus Morning 2.

When I began to paint, I thought about showing the mist over the ridge. But the indigo won out, and I painted clear blue sky with a few puffy clouds. Next time.

Mingus Afternoon.

Mingus Afternoon.

Amazing what lucent light can do.
The mountains stand tall and strong and true.
A passing cloud, or misty shroud.
Then clear and bright.
To day’s fading light.

Sun Setting.

Have an awesome weekend everyone!

The simplicity/complexity of this stretch of the Mingus range outside your window (OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW!!!) will offer subject matter indefinitely. What a gift.

“Big Blue” above has clean direct spareness. It looks me right in the eyes, calm and unblinking, and lets me gaze back into its depth. It touches me with the solidity of its mountains, the evanescence of its light.

You are right about that Dotty. I have too many pictures already, and keep taking more. There are so many different colors in those hills. 🙂 I love your description Dotty, thank you 🙂 So glad you like the mountains 🙂

I will 🙂 Did you see my post on the heART postcard exchange? She does several a year and you can take part in one or all. I am just confused.. LOL, asking everyone if they are signing up. (And it is late here). See you at LYA Louise 🙂 (and B4)

You made me smile… I try to. In fact it’s not really my camera, more my heart and feelings. I did see your heART swap post, I had a look at Louise’s page, I will see next month what I can do, December is a bit hectic for me this year. Have a good night, Sheila. Always nice “talking” to you.

I am glad Louise, and you are so right about that. The camera is just a tool, it is your soul, that makes your photos so wonderful 🙂 I can’t do December either. I would like to do more next year though. Always nice talking with you Louise – Enjoy your day!

Thanks for visiting! I hope you'll take a minute and say hello. Always great to hear from you!
