Some days the light turns the fields so bright that they seem to be glowing. Other times the hills seem to vibrate with a warm earthy pink. Very happy with this one. Closer to the vision that was gnawing at me.

Monday was our Thanksgiving due to work schedules. I had to wait to paint until everyone else was in bed. My brother was trying to think of a Thanksgiving song. None of us could. I thought of Over the River.  I remember the Peanuts gang singing it. But the full version is clearly for Christmas.

Here are a few more I found.

Do you know any Thanksgiving day songs?

I was so enjoying creating new work each day, I completely forgot to post the baby shower gift! It could have been one of my 30’s! My apologies for the terrible photos. This elephant is a light grey, with white details on light turquoise, to fit her color scheme. The white is looking grey to me here. And the photo crop makes it look a bit wonky too.

I decoupaged textured papers on the canvas for fun. Thinking the baby could reach out and touch them, like those fun picture books. But we ended up hanging it above the closet, so that won’t be happening!

Sandy Sandy’s FUNdamentals of Alcohol Ink E-Course

Working to get caught up on Sandy Sandy’s e-course. The trip and the challenge made for a late start. But the other students voted on a mini break, so that will work in my favor.

These textures are for backgrounds. We will be adding inspirational words to them later. I always wondered how Sandy achieved these textures, and now I know! A bit hard to see them here, but I will be sharing them again when I am done.

Mingus mountain is thirty minutes from our house. I have simplified the forms. That is what I see. How I see them. The shapes, the curves, the contrast. The golden rocks are not always visible, a nice surprise. they really catch the light at sunset. I will share some photos soon. Have to size them in Photoshop for posting.

I had fun with this. Slightly larger for me. It would be fun to do this on a large canvas in acrylic.

I love the work being shared in Leslie Seata’s 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge!
I am also adding friends and favorites to my Pinterest board for the event.
