This went through six , revisions. Not sure if it is done or not. I am done for today. I started with the acrylic berry background. Thought about adding designs painted in the same color over it. Circles or lines. Couldn’t decide so I applied white acrylic with a palette knife.

I dipped the knife into water as I spread the white around. I scraped and scratched, but none of that is showing. Decided it was TOO white, so I added some brown and grey watercolor over that. When it dried it just looked dark and dreary instead of aged.

Next I wiped some of that off. Let it dry and then took a piece of sandpaper to it to bring back some of the white and add some scratches. But it was fine grain. Actually a piece from an old pink nail file.

Very wonky, and might still be a little dark and dreary. The day is dreary so that could be an influence. On to number 16!

Halfway already? Almost!

I didn’t start painting until about 9:30. But I did finish the wedding invitation, the RSVP card and the bridal shower invite. Whew!

Started a second painting, but I’ll find out tomorrow if it is work worthy, or a do over.

I wasn’t sure about posting this one, being late, I had no option. That rusty, dusty orange looked bright and not true to life again. Gave me the chance to play more with the selective color adjustments in Photoshop. More learning today!

Again I goofed and have light and shadow on the same side. Don’t know why I always do that. Just feels natural to me for some reason. Maybe it is because my lamp is on the right side of the desk. And the window is on the left. Hmmm. Makes no sense.

Truth be told there is a lot I think is wrong with this. Even so, I can see it maybe hanging on the wall somewhere.

Again I am telling myself that it is the work that counts. There were many revisions on this, and I can see a few more changes I would like to make. But it is the end of a busy day, and tomorrow will be as well.  I called it – it’s done.

I don’t know why I so often end up with bouquets that are square. What’s up with that? I started with loose flower shapes in watercolor. I added a soft blue, green and a creamy yellow acrylic to the background using a palette knife. Trying for an aged stone effect but it didn’t gel. So I covered most of that up with a soft white acrylic. THAT didn’t work either. Burnt orange watercolor to the rescue.  A little better.

The vase was a soft blue, meant to look like glass filled with water. Laugh out loud. Covered that up right quick.

A for effort maybe. D for color and composition. A for having the huevos to post it for the world to see.
