Our Fall Gathering Starts Soon!

September is five days away. Do you have plans for creative YOU time?
Join us in The Creative Gathering for 30 days of play & practice.

Our 30-Day Creative Gathering is an informal gathering of creators. Just paint each day in September. Or sketch, or take a photo. We welcome all levels, all mediums. Creating each day does not have to mean completing a finished piece. Work in progress is welcome!

You can choose to follow a theme, experiment with new tools, use a new palette. Or not. At the end of the month, each artist will create a collage of their works.
(If you have not done that before, we will show you how.)

Gathering together allows the opportunity to connect with others, make new friends, and cheer each other on. It’s OK to start late. It’s OK to participate even if you will not be able to do all 30 days.

The Creative Gathering, February 2025 Group Gallery

February proved that creativity reigns. This month’s gathering was plagued with technical issues. Facebook decide not to work equally, for everyone. Some were able to comment. Others were not. This had a huge impact on the group mood & momentum. Conversations are a huge part of the reason for gathering!

Still, we were able to produce over 500 works of art. High five to all! That is up over our September 2024 total of 457.

I call that a triumph of spirit. Congratulations on persevering!

The February 2025 Creative Gathering Collages

Days 16 – 30

For the second half of the gathering, I explored the desert landscape, minimal abstracts and florals. Along the way I moved from collage mixed with digital collage, to digital collage alone. Pattern remained a constant.

For the last three days of the month, I reworked old paintings. These are from 2015. Can they really be that old? I started a class, that reminds us to revisit old work, and see if we can adjust or update it, to use for different purposes, such as licensing.
