One more of these for tomorrow. I am not quite happy with this painting, I think yesterdays was much better. I am going to try again, and then I will have a triptych!

Sea giftI received a fabulous gift from Sea Dean. My prize for receiving the most votes in her Art Party. Five of her wonderful postcards. Flowers, a sleeping cat, and a glorious landscape!  All so lovely! Thank You Sea!

The mail woman has been very good to me this week. I received a birthday book from good friends, and two wonderful handmade cards. My friend Pauline who lives in the U.K. sent me this wonderful little gift along with her card. I call it a tea cozy. I know what a real tea cozy is, but I like the name. Pauline made a little envelope, and filled it with several kinds of tea. I told her I would  have a cup of tea tonight, while I watch episode 2 of Downton Abbey.Tea cozy

Hope you all are enjoying the weekend! Treat yourself to some art and check out Leslie’s challenge!

I am continuing my birthday celebration this week, thanks to very generous patrons. Sitting on my desk is an Arches 100% cotton watercolor block. And lighting the way is an OttLite. True, clean light. Both of these are not just big buck items, they are MEGA BUCKS! For my budget. Am I blessed or what!

3 lightsI have three small lamps on my desk. They will all be kicked to the curb when I rearrange to make way for the Ott. Two of the lamps give light that is too warm. One is too cold. One is actually broken, but it extends, so I “made do”.

My tail is waggin’! No really. Just call me little red-head girl and cue the piano!

Today’s painting is a quick one. Oh did I have fun. Bliss! This paper is a dream!  Hope you like it too.

Happy painting to all of you who are taking part in Leslie Saeta’s 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

I kept it simple today, and I was able to paint three postcards. I’ll keep the others to myself for now, in case I need them for this challenge. I am still trying to lighten up and work loose. I was successful.

I used up the last bits of color I had left on my palette from yesterdays work. I resisted the urge to add more pigment. Very little paint forced me to work in soft layers.

Hard to believe we are nearing the halfway point in Leslie’s 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. Time does indeed fly when you are having fun!
