There are three layers in this yellow. Quin Gold, Yellow Ochre and Jaune Yellow. It scanned true. The Quin Gold settled into the paper, and created delicate… freckles. This top part was painted first, wet on slightly damp paper. The Indigo was wet paint on dry paper.

I cropped this piece digitally, to postcard proportions. Which do you prefer?

The work in progress has a few more layers. Deepened the light areas. Does that make sense? I covered more of the white, while attempting to keep the light.

Good stuff Maynard!! Snail mail surprise! I ordered two small Carry-All pouches from my Society6 shop. They are meant to be gifts, but I really want to keep them for myself. Ha ha. I am so happy with the quality of these little bags. The material is heavy-duty and there is a small pocket in the lining. The colors are true to the original artwork. The pattern in the vase is even visible!

This is really a pretty little painting. But the scan made everything neon. And this photo makes everything dark and dreary. I suppose that is fitting for Halloween.

I was craving some time with my brush, so I painted the little blue vase, and I started a larger piece. I made marks with an Inktense pencil. Felt better after, calm, so it was time well spent. A welcome break from tech chores.

Marks or Madness?

Came across these, thought you might have a laugh.
I never knew Halloween was a big for dating.
