I have noticed a pattern here. The canvas I posted yesterday, was the first in the batch of 4 x 4’s. I thought it was the best of those. This was the first of four, and again, I feel it is the best.

I need to stop trying so hard. I think that is the lesson. I think on these first attempts, I was just doing, and not thinking. Or maybe I was trying  too hard on those that followed, to recreate the “magic” somehow. Which is impossible.

So happy to end on a positive note. January has been a productive month. Thank you Leslie Saeta! Tomorrow I will be posting a collage of my favorites. The artists who took part will also be posting their collage of 30 paintings.

Happy day thirty and happy Monday!

Congratulations Sheila! What a wonderful painting to finish on. Love those scratchy marks in the upper left corner and the lights and darks! Wise words indeed and ones I will remind myself of. Has been such a pleasure sharing these 30 days with you – appreciate all your comments. You are a kind and generous person and I have been lucky to connect with you. I will look forward to keeping in touch and participating in another challenge with you! Take care and happy painting.

Sheila, when I first saw this on the 30 in 30 page, I immediately had 2 thoughts: the first was “That’s a Sheila”. Because you have such a unique style! Then I thought “That’s an angel”. Maybe it wasn’t meant to be, but I see a beautiful angel here. Congrats again, and bye, but only for now:)

Laurie thank you for such a kind thought ☺ I like that you see an angel! I did not name this,I wanted to leave it to the viewer to decide. See you soon, butafterashort rest perhaps.?

A good lesson Sheila, – first time lucky, knowing when to quit or trying too hard. Abstracts are some of the toughest styles to do, I think and you have done a great job this month with your pieces. I am looking forward to seeing if you continue with this style.

Thanks so much Val 🙂 I do want to continue, but I have to admit, I am missing my flowers. LOL. Thanks so much for your encouragement and observations. You really helped get me through this month Val 🙂

Sheila, awesome work and congratulations on making it through the 30 days. The apifinany I had, and I think the reason I continue to return and explore more, is when I paint abstract I feel more like I am daydreaming. I’m not concentrating on the work, I’m just play’in with the paint. It’s a beautiful thing for an artist to do such.
I can wait to see what you do next.

WOW, thank you Larry 🙂 It is freeing to play with the paint, and not know what you will end up with. That is a perfect description, “daydreaming”. Thank you, and congratulations to you on your amazing month! Such a joy to see you work each day. I look forward to your next piece as well 🙂 Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Sheila, this is saving the best for the last. It is great. Although you have put up many that are keepers and should give you a good encouragement to go on. Was so great to finally connect with you during this challenge. I appreciated your thoughts and support so much and look forward to continuing our talking back and forth for a long time to come. Congrats on making it “you early bird”.

Sheila, ta da, day 30—and you’re ending on a positive note! You did some terrific exploration this month and I’m eager to see where it takes you next. Loved your self-analysis today about “trying.”

    I haven’t painted for day 30 yet …

I know it will be great Dotty 🙂 I know it is a lesson I have learned over and over. But I was excited to come to that realization. Sort of like it hit me for the first time. Have fun with your creative time Dotty, can’t wait to have a look 🙂
