A quick exercise before bed a few nights ago. After two uglies, I managed this tulip. The next night, last thing before the lights went out. I found a scrap, and painted more Ocotillo. No time for painting. Just to keep my sanity, I try to find a few minutes before bed to play with color, and water. Put brush to paper.

That’s a nice way to go off to sleep…with those images the last things to see before dropping off. Love the foreground on the desert plant..

Keep up those late night sketches! The tulip has personality! He just wants to dance! And I love the composition of the ocotillo painting (I had never heard of an ocotillo, so thanks!). The larger foreground- love that!

Your tulip is the same color as one I had in my garden this year, sadly died off now. I like the foreground in your Ocotillo – very desert like. Have a great week.

Hi Sheila, great to see the late night sketches and know that you’re minding your sanity with color, water, brush, paper. The best kinda play! Love that tulip color and those top-o’-the-hill ocotillos standing tall and proud.
