Working on a submission for the A.I.R postcard show. This is idea #1 and I am going to do a fabric design with this as well. I have already started working on it, more on that later.

I know this looks simple, and it is. I went through nine revisions though. My first attempt is below. I wanted the dripping paint to be straight, and I was holding the paper correctly. Mystery breeze made for angled drips.

I may have gone overboard with the splatters, But I am tempted to age it a bit more with scratches and marks. I am working on others. Don’t have a name for this, so if anything comes to mind let me know. This is obviously a cosmic remnant from Soul Art day.

Here is another mini. Scary Mary. Sally square head. She reminds me of every other photo in my high school yearbook. Eighties big hair. There was more, but I cropped it. Not very good, but proof I am still at it.

For Sandy. Baby hummingbird in his nest. You can barely see him, look for the black beak pointing up. This is just outside the front door. (Rarely used) The nest is in the potato bush about six feet high. We thought there were two chicks, but now we can only see one.

Happy June to you!

What do you think that baby hummer measures? How precious it would be to rescue the nest and paint a still life with it when they’re done.

It seems to be the season for nests. I had two favourite patrons fighting over a nest painting on Sunday and I calmed them down by accepting a commission for a second, so I’m all into nests as well.

I love your nests Sea, and that is awesome news. It pays to be a diplomat huh! ha ha I have already claimed the nest. The trick will be in waiting long enough! I can not see him myself. But Pete thinks about A half inch. That can’t be right can it. I did once see two hummingbird eggs in a nest, and they were smaller than jelly beans. teeny tiny. I have another hummingbird nest in my room, from a few years ago.

The postcards are lovely, the top one is my favourite and how sweet about the baby hummingbird, we don’t have them here in Scotland, sadly.

I like the post card and I can already imagine a skirt is that fabric. I can’t imagine how you even noticed the huimmer’s nest as they are so small but I bet is is fun to watch. – have a great week.

My father noticed, he is six feet tall, when he was cleaning out the mulch there. He heard them and then started looking around. Yes, right away I knew this had to be fabric. I am thinking of adding splattered paint to it as well. That will be interesting to do.
Hope you have a great week too Val!
