Happy Giveaway Day!

It’s time to make some lemonade. I guess this is not really a lemon. A minor disappointment maybe.  But I am not crushed.

POSTCARD GIVEAWAY

The postcard I created for this years Postcards from the Edge benefit did not sell. The gallery sent it back to me. And I am going to set it free. Again.

I have not done a giveaway before. I should probably be scientific about it. But I am thinking. K.I.S.S. So leave me a comment.

Tell me why you like Red.
Will you frame it?
Will you gift it to a friend?
Do you have a spot in your home that you know it will be perfect in?

It doesn’t have to be a long comment. I haven’t really decided, should I choose the best comment, or put names in a hat. You can give me you opinion on that too if you want.
(Probably names in a hat.)

Along with the postcard, I will include the pamphlet from the event and the collectors copy with a statement from me. The back of the postcard is stamped and numbered from the event as well.

acrylics, 4 x 6 postcard abstract

Red, Benefit pamphlet, Collector’s Copy

You can read more about Red here, and here.

I will make the announcement on Friday.

Happy day to ya’!

I agree, definitely not a lemon, although I love lemons and things made with lemons 🙂 I think it didn’t sell so you could set it free and see where it goes. I love red, almost as much as I love blue. I love that red is very passionate and covers the entire spectrum from anger to love. I love combining red with purple, green, gold and black. I would definitely frame it and hang it in my home. Thanks for offering the giveaway and best of luck to everyone!

Mmmmmm, lemons…. my mouth is watering. I think we might have some that are ready. Red is very expressive. I think it was a … sign of good fortune. A sign of something good. It will be for a lucky someone! thanks for visiting Ronda!

Just wanted you to know I received my postcard in the mail and it is absolutely delightful! The computer image does not do it justice at all. I love it!

Oh Good! I am so glad you like it Ronda! Those colors were hard to photograph. Have a super weekend! I am serious, we need to try and get together, and meet in person 🙂

          Have a happy creative weekend!

I’m surprised it didn’t sell too. My take on it is probably different than you would expect, but I spent a lot of time looking under the microscope with my children when I home schooled and it reminds me of all those delightful microscopic worlds that come to life when you can magnify them enough to see them. I agree with Joan’s comment that the red is “bright, happy and cheerful”. I love giving cards to friends, especially unique one of a kind ones like this one, but I might decide to keep it in my “studio to be” with my growing collection of art that I have traded with the wonderful artists I’ve been blessed to meet. 🙂

I can see it now Karin! Little squigglies wiggling. Love your take on it! I am so enjoying the little art collection I have in my “studio”. So inspirational, and so nice to “see” friends each day 🙂

    Hi Sheila
I’ve been following you for a while now and absolutely love your journey. Your post card is stunning. I love the red in general, such a powerful colour. The flowers and the feeling of free spirit that I get from it.
I’d like it to be in my office at work, to give me a little bit of sunshine, feeling free and the power to keep hanging in there.
I wont frame it, as to me the whole idea of a postcard is for it not to be framed, it changes over time as it gets a little rough around the edges and then continues to change meaning too.
all the best with your continuing journey
    Robyn

The cards I have received in the LYA swap sometimes arrive a little torn and tattered. Makes them more interesting because it shows they have traveled. Maybe that is why I am drawn to postcards. Thanks for reading my blog Robyn, and following along! Happy quilting to you!

My favourite bit is the sun almost near the center. Oh and the music note looking things, and red and yellow. Macdonalds know best ya know. And then there’s hypnotic dots. …… I suppose I just like it.

I like the sun part too, Sea. And the spots were kind of mesmerizing when I was painting. They do sort of look like those hypnotic eyes in the old cartoons. (Did I say old?) Classic. 😉

    Hey There Sheila!

This IS NOT a lemon by ANY means!! I happen to love it. It is bright, happy, and cheerful. That is why I love the color red, to me red is bright and happy – just like flowers. Anyhow, definitely put my name in the hat. And yes, if I’m the giveaway winner – I will display this one proudly – those are the two main colors in my kitchen: Red and Yellow 🙂

    Enjoy your day!

Thanks for the giveaway! Giveaways are always fun.

HA ha ha! You’re in Joan! Red and yellow! I love yellow, and red is growing on me. You can’t miss it, that is for sure! Maybe that is why so many car ads show red cars ‘ey?

Well I think it is the cats meow Sheila! This issues a cool pop 50’a style piece full of fun and zazzle. Red is hot! Like canna lilies and poppies and that sexy red dress. Plus the design is so enticing. They must not have been thinking when they passed this by!

Laughing… thanks Susan. I was surprised, more so because I did not request it back. Oh well, it DID hang in the gallery!
