I really love how this turned out. It was done on inexpensive paper, with a “canvas” texture.

Last of L.Y.A.

Two more L.Y.A. side swaps arrived while I was out-of-town.  The first is a fun photo from Deanie Houghtaling. I love the look of these stained and well used brushes. Old friends. Deanie lives in Phoenix, and we may get the chance to meet after our move. On the back:

I dream of painting and then I paint my dreams.

Last-but-not-least

The colorful, lacy card is from Patsy Lawrence, all the way from Tennessee. I admired this card all through the swap, as it was posted over and over on the Facebook page. The colors, and the stained glass effect. So pretty. Come to find out, Patsy did several different versions of this, all of them lovely! Her message includes this quote:

“I will be an ARTIST or nothing!”
Eugene O’Neill

Patsy continues with this. “I am probably a distant relative of his, considering the stencil was found among the possessions of my grandmother O’Neill!” Fun thought!

Thank you both for sharing your art with me! Brightened my day! My album is officially full. 28 postcards. But I know I have one more card coming.

Have a super week ya’ll!

A lot of nuthin’ much going on here today. I have painted a day ahead for most of this challenge. I thought yesterdays painting was done and posted, but it wasn’t.  Duh.

Today has been a Donna Summer day. Been working hard for the money. I am sharing most of the rejects from today. These are the best of the worst.

Guess I should cut myself some slack. I went to the drive in last night,  double feature. Then I came home and worked for a couple of hours. We saw Lone Survivor

God Bless our American servicemen and women.

Lack of sleep is obviously detrimental to my creativity. Still, I think each of these has something that is redeemable. And I had fun, so not a total loss.  All practice is good practice!

Enjoy!

Loose was about three minutes back from where I stopped painting. Next stop. Overworked.

Still for all that is wrong with this pear, I really like it. It is far from perfect. I love aged, chipped and peeling, left out in the rain and rusted shut.

This looks like it has lived a long life. The art, not the real pear. Although, maybe that did too now that I think about it. Looks like it was left on a desk, and someone spilled some Coke on it. They tried to wipe it up, but duh, it is watercolor. So the paint smeared into a muddy mess.

Happy Day 14 to all the artists still working away in Leslie’s Challenge! Happy Tuesday to everyone – Thanks for stopping by!
