Only 12 more days left. How does that sound to you, 30 in 30 artists? Doable? Or daunting? I still have plenty of ideas. More palette knife practice, some watercolor. Nope, the ideas haven’t dried up yet. No problem there.

I have however, fallen behind on my blog visits and pinning pieces to my challenge board. I was behind to start. Caught up nicely, and fell behind again. Oh well. I did manage to paint a couple of extra pieces today. Feel good about that. Today’s painting is not showing nearly as pretty as it is in person.

Visit Leslie’s gallery of amazing daily painters.

Gorgeous works at my challenge Pinterest board!

Days End Light

The light was fading. I thought, O.K. work fast and see what happens. One way to stay loose. The hills were glowing one second, the next they were not. Breathing better with a brush in my hand.

These photos are from a couple of days ago. I noticed that the shadows have changed on the highest hills. You can see part of the rock juts out at the very top, and the shadow on the right rear is much larger. The earth has moved. I played with the sky in Photoshop, but I can see now, I over did it.  Better than grey though.

Did a blah, quick piece yesterday. Played with filters in Photoshop, and I like it better now.

These have me thinking cosmos. Or satellite views of the earth. Not angels. The microscopic cells did not survive drying. They collapsed, leaving broken shards of color. I was surprised that the thick paint dried overnight. On pour three, the white paint was thick, but somehow the texture of the canvas is visible. There are little concave dimples. Weird and interesting.

The canvas sides are eye-catching. Maybe even more so that the fronts.

Sides-shine

Tried to show the shine of the metallic in the last two images. But you know how difficult it is to capture. So, out of 7 attempts, I ended up with one angel. I am going to try once more with the lavender canvas tomorrow. We’ll see how it goes. Be seeing you!
