Some days, just after the rain has passed, the sky turns a greenish grey. The light seems to make my neighbor’s tree glow from within.  I used artistic license, I can’t see the bottom half of the tree, and the top is squared off, not a pretty “tree” shape.

Today the clouds put on a show, as they passed over Mingus Mountain.  Here is a short clip to give you an idea.

Sunlight and shadows.

The shapes in your painting are super – and what else is artistic licence for – lol. And the tree is glowing in the pic. We get some really cool cloud movement here too in the sky and on the mountains and fields with the shadows – very cool to watch.

Thanks Laurie 🙂 I think I will be sharing more slide shows soon. I would love to see what you would do with the mountains!!

So much fun to see what you’re painting in this challenge. This one was fun for my eyes. First I took in the landscape scene, but then my eyes paid attention to the three simple bands of color that by themselves would be complete abstraction but which became something else, and lined up one in front of the other, because of the inclusion of the tree. Way fun.
