Counting this as done for today. But I think it needs… something. Any thoughts? I think it would make a nice gift card. There is room enough to add (digitally), “Thinking of you”, “You are…always on my mind” or “Happy Valentines”. It is really more red than pink in person, but pink works.

Another possibility for submission to “LOVE SAYINGS: wit & wisdom of romance, courtship, and marriage.”

I have 6 paintings started. Enough to get me to the end of the month. I have three others that are wipe outs. Yupo experiments gone wrong. But I had fun making a mess!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog, and thanks to all who leave comments. I love hearing from you! More 30 In 30 goodness here.

Hey, what a coincidence! I was asked to submit to Brad’s new book, also!! My work was in his Golf Sayings book that came out last year. I haven’t figured out what I’m going to send him this time around..still thinking about it. These paintings of yours will be great!!

I had work in that one, and in the cats book. Your red flowers certainly fit! I can’t wait to see what you send in Mz. K. Thanks for visiting, enjoy the rest of the challenge!

The paper is a tool and it is not a waste if you learn something. I always say, I learn much more from my failures than from my successes. I love that you are so creative and freely experiment with your themes and materials!! Have a great day!! Hugs, Sandy

Thanks Sandy 🙂 One thing I have learned, is that different colors react differently. I am finding it harder to work with red and purple, than it was with the blue and green. It could be that I like blue and green better. I feel I am forcing it a bit with the other two. Hope you have a super day as well Sandy 🙂

    Hey There Sheila !! 🙂
I like this one. I think it looks like fabric! Pretty colors. You are doing great with getting ahead and having paintings in the works! Me? 🙁 Well, I have missed 5 days of the 30 in 30…however, I am still plugging away with whatever I can finish.! That’s the spirit – right! :):):)

    Have fun with Day #24!

I had three turn to mud, I know what you mean Pam. I started this by flicking red and purple gouache on, then I flicked on clear water. I let that dry overnight, I was just at a stopping point. Today, I splashed on more red. I used a stencil for the hearts, I stippled on some white acrylic. Then I used Inktense Indigo to bring out the hearts. I drew with the pencil, and then used a wet brush to spread the paint. But it was not strong enough. So I wet the brush, and took the color directly fro the pencil. The blue surrounds are actually a little darker, and spread out nicely.

It actually went pretty fast. I use a heat gun to help things dry. But you have to be very careful, the Yupo will melt. ( Yevgenia Watts showed us that) I hold it away from the yupo, and do not focus on one area too long. I have had the heat gun for years, use it for a lot of things. I like that it is smaller than a hair dryer, and blows a little more softly. It sits on one corner of my desk, at the ready 🙂

I like the hearts! One of the cool things about a “wipeout” on yupo is that you can just start over again! I actually had not thought of calling it a “wipeout” – that’s pretty clever of you. 🙂

I may appropriate it myself – I can imagine using it for a blog post title – especially since I’ve never been on a surf board… the closest thing I’ve come to a wipeout is a white out – many times with the snow in CT and once with a moth infestation… 🙂

I am laughing Jim.. infestation… now there is a story I am sure. Every time I hear wipeout I think of that guitar lick from the song from the 50’s!

Thanks so much Sandy. I have to admit, in the beginning, I was a little afraid to use it. I did not want to “waste” such a precious commodity! I am having a lot of fun with it now 🙂
