Sketches and Sunflowers

This was painted for the September challenge. One of my “extras”. Adding a bit of sun to my chilly day, and hopefully to your day as well.

Still working on several acrylic pieces. And researching ideas for a small fabric collection I am working on. These are sketches of design elements I like, found in The Grammar Of Ornament.

Has anyone else started watching Christmas movies? I know, I am demented. But I have to do something to distract myself while I wait for the last season of Downton Abbey.

Leslie Saeta’s 30 paintings in 30 days challenge is back. There are still a few days to sign up if you’re interested. I love taking part in these. This will be my fifth challenge. I am really happy with how this turned out. Again, the colors on the vase itself are not showing well. There is some contouring, and the shadows are deeper. While working on this, I thought I may have botched the greenery. But having come back to it after a few days, it works.

Heading home tomorrow, I have been in Prescott Arizona for a few days. So pretty here, and the weather has been cloudy and raining on and off. Perfecto!
