This was painted for the September challenge. One of my “extras”. Adding a bit of sun to my chilly day, and hopefully to your day as well.

Still working on several acrylic pieces. And researching ideas for a small fabric collection I am working on.  These are sketches of design elements I like, found in The Grammar Of Ornament.

Has anyone else started watching Christmas movies? I know, I am demented. But I have to do something to distract myself while I wait for the last season of Downton Abbey.

Happy creating everyone!

September’s 30 in 30 Starts Soon

Leslie Saeta’s 30 paintings in 30 days challenge is back. There are still a few days to sign up if you’re interested. I love taking part in these. This will be my fifth challenge. Each one has been a learning experience, and my work has improved as a result. If you would like to take a look back, click on the links in the sidebar (below).

I am trying to get a few pieces painted ahead of time. Just in case. Backups, for when a days work just bombs. Here is a small peek…

I am really happy with how this turned out. Again, the colors on the vase itself are not showing well. There is some contouring, and the shadows are deeper.  While working on this, I thought I may have botched the greenery. But having come back to it after a few days, it works.

I have still been working on faces….

I am also working on pattern designs as well.

Heading home tomorrow, I have been in Prescott Arizona for a few days.  So pretty here, and the weather has been cloudy and raining on and off. Perfecto!

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend in your neck of the woods!
