Beautiful girls in fancy new dresses,
faces all powdered, combed are their tresses.
Standing still now, yes, on display
soon asked to dance, they hope, oh they pray.
~SMD

I am the least happy with this one, of all I have painted so far this month. It’s done now, and on the books. I was actually on a roll today, I have three others started, and I worked a bit more on the one I thought was going nowhere (from a couple of days ago).

Maybe if I add a long braid to this, or some curls. Or swap the colors out. Hmm… so maybe it is a work in progress. I didn’t think of “ladies” in the beginning. But that red form, even before the color, looked as if she was standing there with an attitude. And the stripes remind me of those silly band-aid looking concoctions.

Ok, it is official. I have had the best birthday “week” ever! It started back on December 24th, when I received this wonderful painting from Kathy Mackay.

Sheila, you are a prime example of an artist that cannot see the beauty in her work. I think this is your best yet.

By the way I just spent some time searching for an easy way to share your blog on Facebook. You can LIKE but I can’t find a SHARE.

Thanks for that Sea. It just happened so easily… can’t count right? ha ha ha
Thanks for letting me know. I looked to see if I could add share for Facebook, but I am going to have to do more research. I have tried to add that Facebook, I think it is call fans or fan page. Where it shows the thumbnails… and I can not get it to work. I will let you know when I get it added. 🙂 Thanks for wanting to share 🙂

Ditto what Susan said . . . I love what you are doing this time around!!! And thanks for all the kind words about my ACEOs. I am SO GLAD you won (Two) ! They have magnets on the back and although I did spray them with varnish and a UV coating, you can hang them in the sleeve so they’re really protected. Thanks for all your enthusiasm about my work my friend. xo Sandy

You lucky girl – all those wonderful art gifts! I can’t believe how Sandy Sandy can work so finely with the alcohol inks – amazing. I like your day 11 piece. I don’t think it has to signify anything but the shapes, colors and decoration make it so interesting – good job!

Her detail is amazing isn’t it Val 🙂 Looking at it (my piece) from across the room, I am liking it more this morning. Maybe because it came about so easily… I didn’t consider it “work”.

I think you are on to something with the patterns and forms. The colors compliment very nicely. Just with yellow there were lots of interesting patterns and designs to think about. Sometimes the creator can be their worst critic and sometimes the opposite. I like it.

Sandy’s work is amazing isn’t it? I also have the honor of being the “winner” of one of her cool feather paintings.
