A few days ago….
It was late. I was tired. I had the urge to put brush to paper, and color.
Spent the day on ‘tech stuff”, repairs on my site.
Inspired by a stitched work of art. Pear. Bright colors.
Made me want to play.
By the light from my monitor.
A quick sketch. A wash, then another.
Feeling better.
Computer off.
Time to sleep.
I entered these designs for a chance to win a place on The Ultimate Portfolio Builder course from Make it in Design. So exciting, and a terrific opportunity to learn from the best.
Two years ago I took part in their Summer School classes. I learned a lot. The finals were so much fun to work on. My Intricate Chaos design has even been purchased on Spoonflower.
Fingers crossed!

I added a grey wash over the branches that did not have it in the first version. On screen, the pen marks are not showing up as well as they do in person.
We had rain most of the morning. Soft and steady. No sign of the ducks, then all of a sudden a female came crashing down into the pool. Sorry to say I didn’t get the shot. Two seconds later Mr. and another female landed on the grass. They stayed for about an hour. They had a snack, preened and climbed the stairs to the top deck. But I am guessing they had enough of the wet, as they did not get in the pool again. Pip also made a brief visit with a few friends.
