Poured paint on paper has a will of its own. Hoping for interesting, organic shapes. Instead I produced runs and drips. The details might be useful as part of a collage. Or maybe I can continue with more paint and marks. The colors  show as intense, but in person they are soft, warm and subtle.

We had rain last night, and clouds today. Made for interesting Mingus views.

I have been painting abstracts. I start out trying for loose and large (ish). Before I know what happened, everything is tiny and tight. Ugh!!  Today I thought I would go to one of my defaults, and try to salvage my bruised ego.

The resulting painting is not great. Not bad either. I am particularly happy with the sky, mostly because I thought I had botched it halfway through.  And there was joy in the creating! That is a win anytime! I will try again with the abstracts tomorrow.

Alicia Tormey posted inspiration yesterday. A perfect reminder at the perfect time. Never ceases to amaze me how the universe works. I had listened to the video clip, gosh, maybe two years ago. I was very glad of the reminder, thought you might appreciate it as well.

Kat Sloma’s Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap begins tomorrow. I had my cards printed this year, instead of making them myself. I am happy with how they turned out. The card stock is not as heavy as I expected, but they should survive the USPS.

Kat shared my envelope again this year on one of her posts. Such an honor to be included with so many talented, amazing artists. I always feel so uncreative when it comes time to decorate my envelope.  My mind goes blank. LOL.
