Not many people know that the poinsettia is actually a shrub, or small tree. We are so used to seeing them in a small foil covered pot. I once lived in an apartment that had one planted in the front. We actually decorated it for Christmas. It was about 8 feet tall, and even though the branches were sparse it was really pretty.

I really enjoyed painting this, and it came together fairly quickly. I am working on my tendency to overwork. This is for Day 6 of Sea Dean’s Art Party.

Thanks for visiting!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas tree,
How lovely are your branches!

How often you give us delight
In brightly shining Christmas light!
O Christmas Tree, O Christmas tree,
You are the tree most loved!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas tree,
Your beauty green will teach me
That hope and love will ever be
The way to joy and peace for me.

On screen this looks exactly like the ornament I did yesterday. The colors are really much deeper. I hope you can take some time to visit Sea Dean’s Art Party and see the gorgeous art that is being born!

Another ATC today for Sea Dean’s ART PARTY.  I still have not caught the Christmas green, red and white spirit. Truthfully, I do not use red to paint with much at all. I always lean more towards the cool colors. This bulb would be perfect for my dream beach house.

OK, so next to the music, Christmas is wonderful to me because of all the glorious colors you see everywhere. Bright, SHINY colors! I mean it is a Willy Wonka feast for the eyes!

(Oompa, oompa, doo-ba-dee-doo, I have another painting for you.)

I’ll stop there. I’ll leave you with that song stuck in your head and a craving for creme puffs and Jujubees.
