Saved this after all. I added the pen detail, just a bit. And I really think it helped. it could be a lot better, but it won’t end up in the trash.  I need to add a bit of sky, get rid of the white. I am thinking of adding a peek of a reader behind the trunk. A bit of shoe or shoulder.  What do you think?

Have a super day everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by!

For more great art, (not saying this is great, just that there is a ton of good stuff to be seen) visit Leslie’s site.

Remembering On 9-11

I don’t know a soul in New York. I only visited the city once. I remember exactly where I was when the plane hit the first tower. I remember who I was with. I remember at work that day. We were numb. We were in tears. We were huddled together trying to make some sort of sense out of the incomprehensible.

We bought several copies of each of the daily papers, hungry for facts. Hoping to hear of survivors, praying for miracles.

I remember in the days after, the silence in the sky. I will never forget that. Having lived in Southern California for so many years I am accustomed to the sounds of flight. Jets training at Miramar. The sounds of a military presence. The sounds of safety.  Living in Wildomar, I can sometimes hear the sounds of artillery. Training of America’s finest just over the hill.

I have been in tears many times today. Watching 9-11 replayed on TV. I don’t remember each detail of the events on that day. I don’t know all the names of those who were lost. And I do not want to forget. I want us to always remember.

I remember how I felt. When I see those images, it all comes flooding back.

Praying for the families of those who were lost, not so very long ago.

30 In 30, Day Eleven

Nobody loves me, nobody cares,
Nobody picks me peaches and pears.
Nobody offers me candy and Cokes,
Nobody listens and laughs at me jokes.
Nobody helps when I get into a fight,
Nobody does all my homework at night.
Nobody misses me,
Nobody cries,
Nobody thinks I’m a wonderful guy.
So, if you ask me who’s my best friend, in a whiz,
I’ll stand up and tell you NOBODY is!
But yesterday night I got quite a scare
I woke up and Nobody just WASN’T there!
I called out and reached for Nobody’s hand,
In the darkness where Nobody usually stands,
Then I poked through the house, in each cranny and nook,
But I found SOMEBODY each place that I looked.
I seached till I’m tired, and now with the dawn,
There’s no doubt about it-
NOBODY’S GONE!!   ~ Shel Silverstein

I started three different paintings today. None of which you see here. Another participant in the challenge posted that she completed a painting, and then decided to scrape it all off and start over. Whew!  Nice to know I am not alone. Her final piece is fabulous by the way.

I hope you will visit Leslie Saeta’s site, and take a look at all the great art that is being created!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
