Early this morning I lifted the window shade to check for snow. There was a little ball of fur in the front yard. Huddled near a frozen puddle in the street. He burrowed as best he could in the rocks. The sun was up, but he was still in a long, cold shadow.

For every beast of the forest is mine,
the cattle on a thousand hills.

I know every bird of the mountains,
And everything that moves in the field is mine.

Psalm 50:10-11

Love your little “Cuddle Bunny”!!! We got a dusting of snow, but it is 3 degrees here this morning with a windchill of -1. I don’t know if it has ever been this cold here. I hear my rooster crowing, I guess the chickens are okay… 🙂

Oh My!! Well, good to hear the chickens survived Karin! LOL. I heard record temps were happening all over. I looked this morning… no bunny. Hope that means he found a warmer spot to wait for the sun 🙂

You’ve captured the cold in the pose of this cool plateau highlands mid altitude desert tucked-in, heat-conserving rabbit, Sheila! Well done! Great title for your post. And another great pairing of painting and scripture. Are you rolling out a series?

Thought Arizona as a warm climate! I guess you may be in the high elevation area! What a cute little fellow. Really looks cold. We have a little ground hog in our garden, along with 4 yard cats, all fixed, and a chicken that comes around for its feed, and a neighborhood female peacock!!!

We are in what is called “cool plateau highlands” and “mid altitude desert”. We are about 30 minutes up the hill from where the weather stays warmer, and more like the desert you think of. And we are not so far north and high in elevation that we get heavy snows and hard winters.
Your garden sounds magical Carol! How fun to have so many animals around 🙂 You will have to share some photos one of these days 🙂
