Studio 2017

Picture perfect day today.  A little warmer too. I spent some time this afternoon organizing my supplies. Started with one small task, and turned into a big to do. You know how that goes. But I have meant to do it for a while. Can check it off the list.

Dotty had asked about my new work space. I love looking at artists work spaces. One of my favorite Pinterest searches. I get kind of nosy too. I want to see what is in the cubbies and drawers. For that reason, I am including way too many photos.

My old work space was in the corner of my bedroom I had shelves on my right, filled with supplies. The black drawers sat on the corner of my desk. Now they are on top of the shelves, so that frees up desk area. I am hoping to move them eventually, and place my scanner where they are. For now, it sits under my desk.

I had to move my desk to make room for the art cart. It had been to the left of the desk, out of reach. Now I can pull it out and have tools close at hand. Moving the desk meant first moving the computer. And THAT meant I had to reorganize the cords. See what I mean.

The ever popular Ikea cart, and Ikea boxes and baskets helped to organize even more. Wood boxes for pens and paper.  Soft woven baskets for alcohol inks and small paint tubes.

Below that is craft paint, colors now clearly visible or labeled. This is what started it all. But hey, I made room for a few more bottles. LOL. On the bottom is cling wrap, crayons, pastels, large bottles.

The “studio” is still in my bedroom. Now it is along one wall, instead of in a corner.  I do have more storage in the closet. The shelves meant for shoes and purses are filled with supplies instead. Heart of an artist.

The monitor is on a stand, which allows me to tuck my most used paint and pencils underneath. The keyboard and mouse also fit when not in use.  You can see that the pencil holder Mark made, sits just about even with the bottom of the window. Perfect!

Workspace.

Still more to do. I will have an inspiration board on the left, the black drawers will move there as well. They are going to get a fresh coat of paint. Stay tuned.

Hope you enjoyed the five cent tour Dotty! Happy creating everyone!

Absolutely love all the pictures. Good to see you are expanding, we always need room, never enough. I resubscribed as I am not seeing your posts come through the email, so see if it works now or if I need to try to fix something.

Dotty Seiter and I have had a long discussion about that in our comments. I just recently started receiving one I had not been getting. Maybe two, I will see when she posts again. So frustrating to not know what the cause is. Fingers crossed, and thanks for being persistent Nelvia! Keep me posted…

Ok, I made sure that after I resubscribed, before I hit the post comment yesterday that I checked both “notify me” boxes and today I got the notification that you commented back to me. So maybe it is going to work. This time I am not going to check those boxes and see if you reply if it tell me you did.

Nelvia, Love that you are taking so much time with this. I am pretty certain that if you do not check those boxes, then you will not be notified. BUT if you are subscribed, then you should be receiving the new posts. I will post again tonight, or tomorrow. Thanks again for seeking the answer 🙂 I still have a few of your posts to catch up on. Hoping I can today 🙂 Enjoy your weekend!

I love seeing other artists’ studios. Sounds like it was a big job, but well worth the effort. Such a beautiful view out your window!

Sheila, way fun to have a studio tour of your creativity hub, replete with breathtaking views out the window. Awesome! I may have to return the favor at some point—minus the breathtaking views out the window. Thanks for this post.

Nice tour! Looks like you have a great view out the window too. Having a proper workspace sure helps me with inspiration. No matter where I’ve been, my number “have to have” is a window that lets in lots of sunshine and light.

I am so happy with the view. My last view was of the side of the neighbors house, and our trash cans and a small patch of sky. This view is a blessing 🙂 Enjoy your day Linda 🙂
