I should have done one more landscape to split the month down the middle. Those hills will pop up again I am sure. Still more I want to try.

Had a hard time today getting the colors to show true in Photoshop. Usually I add a bit of light and vibrance. But I had to “dull” this down by going into the negatives on both of those settings.  Clay, sand, white, desert rose, indigo. Warm, soft, calm.

This is a new piece, not one of the abstracts I struggled with. I worked on four today. The others need more work, and I needed to step away and let them breathe.

I did some cropping, just playing in Photoshop, pulling out my favorite parts. Wonder how many interesting images I could get from this one small painting.

Thanks Lana. I am planning on concentrating more on design in the coming months. I need to get more patterns in my shop. How about you?

Sheila, I love the color combination of this work. And abstract speaks to me. I think it requires a particular vision to express ideas through abstraction. This would make a great wallpaper as well as fabric.

Thank you Linda 🙂 While I was working on it, I really started enjoying the worn look that was developing. Like the layers of paint were peeling and revealing older layers.

Sheila, I thought the piece you posted today was mysterious. When I saw it with its three ‘friends ‘ I feel they are really strong together. Nicely done.

A super Abstract Sheila! I find it an unusual colour combination but it seems to work here. I like the circles, they reminded me of bubbles floating. It is interesting how you separated the painting in smaller pieces. I think this piece would work well for fabric too.

Thank you Val. I think it would be great on fabric as well. I was thinking desert tones, but different than the usual brights. So interesting to me, a few of these comments mention bubbles, and I never thought of that. That is why it is so nice to hear other points of view 🙂

I see a series here……..a MUSICAL series! My eye when right to the musical note in the upper right one. Then they all started singing to me. Beautiful shapes and colors in this, Sheila!

I too really like the colors. I never was much for abstract until I tried painting a few and there sure is a lot more to it than one might think. I applaud you that you are getting such nice ones!!

I never understood abstract either Nelvia. Still not sure I do. But I have come to appreciate it a lot more. And there is a lot to it. Very challenging. Enjoy your day, thanks so much for stopping by 🙂

Sheila, so much fun to see this—new colors! acrylic! canvas! abstract! I love your choices of clay, sand, white, desert rose, indigo. The energy emanating from this 4×4 is an intersection of man and his surroundings—folks on a patio sipping drinks, leaving rings on the table, with mud daubers building nests behind the scenes. I’m eager to see what will unfold during this second half of the month.

First let me give you a bit of advice… what you see on your computer in PS is not necessarily what others see. Every monitor, phone, and tablet have different calibrations.
I also try to make the colors as much as possible like the original but that also varies with the time of day, light source etc.
I really love your little abstracts. I am sure doing these will influence your representational work as well.

Oh I know Carol. My site banner looks so different from the laptop to the desktop . I love it on one and not the other. I had good time with these, didn’t get caught up in trying to make something happen this time. Have fun today, can you beleive we are on the down side now??

Nice change of pace. Love those subtle colours. I have trouble with soft colour I naturally veer towards the vibrant. I need to practice more with subtle colours like this.

I do too Marion. I saw a piece of art with soft tones and I really liked it, so I thought I would give it a try. Enjoy your day 🙂
